As the Niagara Regional Police Service continue to investigate the death of 74-year-old Earl Clapp in Pelham, a second arrest has been made.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday, police arrested 49-year-old Jason Lusted.

Lusted is facing a charge of second degree murder and has been held in custody, pending a video bail hearing, which is expected to happen on Sunday.

In a release, police also say that detectives are attempting to locate a "2007-2014 black Ford Expedition that may be associated to Jason Lustead or Matthew MacInnes and driven on the night of the incident."

MacInnes was arrested on Friday and also faces a charge of second degree murder.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on Oct. 2, police responded to a welfare check in the area of Highway 20 and Cream Street in Pelham.

Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from serious injuries.

Police believe the victim, later identified as Clapp, may have interrupted a theft attempt of one of his trailers on his property.

Police said in an earlier update that they believe Clapp was struck and dragged by the vehicle as it fled the scene.
