Two facing drug trafficking charges in St. Catharines

The two are also charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and a weapon charge

In June of 2021, detectives from the 1 District St. Catharines Street Crime Unit commenced an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in the Western Hill area of St. Catharines. 

The ongoing investigation led to the identification of two adult male suspects.

On Aug. 5, 2021, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Rykert Street near Edith Street. The two suspects and five other persons were arrested in the residence. The five persons were later released without charge.

Detectives seized suspected fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, lidocaine and hydromorphone pills. The total estimated street value of the seized drugs is $5,640 CAD.

Detectives also seized eight bikes believed to be stolen in addition to power tools and silverware.

The search of the residence also located prohibited weapons (a brass knuckle knife, a claw knife, and three spring loaded knives).

Jason Noseworthy (36 years old) and Nathan Alligood (47 years old) both of St. Catharines were arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl) contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (crystal methamphetamine) contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (hydromorphone) contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 contrary to section 355(a) of the Criminal Code.
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon contrary to section 91(2) of the Criminal Code.

Noseworthy and Alligood were both released from custody on Form 10 Undertaking with future court dates.
