Two arrested after officers recover stolen ATV in Wainfleet

On April 20, 2024 at 6:59 a.m., 6 District (Port Colborne/Wainfleet) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of a suspicious person in Wainfleet.

Officers attended the area of Quarry Road and Lakeshore Road and located a male with an ATV. Investigation found the ATV had recently been reported as stolen. Further, this male had an outstanding warrant. Police arrested this individual and determined the ATV had run out of gas. A second male was arrested a short distance away while returning with gas.

Robert Adams (48 years) of Port Colborne has been arrested and charged with the criminal offence of:

  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000

Further to these charges, Adams had outstanding arrest warrant for:

  • Fail to Appear for Fingerprints

 Patrick Smith (40 years) of Port Colborne has been arrested and charged with the criminal offence of:

  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000

Both Adams and Smith were released on a Form 10 Undertaking with a future court date.

The ATV was returned to its owner.
