Suspect in custody as police probe double homicide in St. Catharines

Police say they have one person in custody in connection with a homicide investigation involving the deaths of two adults in a home in St. Catharines.

Niagara Regional Police say at around 9 a.m. today, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) officers were called to a home in the area of Queenston Street and Lorne Street.

When they arrived, they located the bodies of an adult male and an adult female within the home, according to a police news release.

Police said the homicide unit is now investigating, with the forensic services unit currently processing the scene.

"At this time there is no indication that this was a random act of violence, with one person currently in custody," police said.
