Three found with stab wounds at Niagara Falls motel

One was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries

At approximately 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, 2020, 2 District (Niagara Falls) uniform officers were called to a motel in the area of Dunn Street and Stanley Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls following the report of a disturbance.

When officers arrived, they found two males and a female with injuries resulting from a stabbing.

The 50-year-old male was airlifted to an out of region hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The 36-year-old female was treated in hospital for minor injuries while a 38-year-old male was treated for minor injuries in hospital before being taken into custody.

The 38-year-old male is facing the following charges:
    •    two counts of aggravated assault 268(1)CCC
    •    fail to comply with probation order 733.1(1) CCC
    •    fail to comply with release order 145(5)(A) CCC]

The male is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020 via video at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.

The three persons involved were all known to each other. Due to the element of domestic violence in relation to the incident, the name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victims.
