Thieves strike again in Niagara Falls Duty Free Shop

Three sought by police

On Monday June 5, 2023, officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service received a report of a theft that occurred at the Duty Free located at 5726 Falls Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls.  Investigation revealed that on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at approximately 8:15 p.m., two unknown males had entered the store and stole multiple items exceeding $1,000.

On Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024 officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service received another report of a belated theft that occurred at the Niagara Falls Duty Free located at 5726 Falls Avenue in Niagara Falls. The theft occurred on Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, between 5:59 p.m. and 6:06 p.m.  A male and a female suspect entered the store on foot and proceeded to steal items from the store. The male suspect and the female suspect left on foot and were last seen walking toward Clifton Hill. Total loss exceeds $7,000. 

2 District detectives have taken carriage of the investigation.  As a result, detectives have reason to believe that one of the suspects in the June 4 incident is the same male suspect in the January 5 incident.

Detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying all 3 suspects (See photos).

The suspects are described as:

Male Suspect 1:

  • 20-35 years old
  • 6'
  • Black beard
  • Short dark hair
  • Arm in a black sling
  • Wearing a black Chicago Bulls shirt with dark jeans.

Male Suspect 2:

  • 20-35 years old
  • Dark beard
  • Dark short hair
  • Medium build
  • Incident 1 – Wearing a white polo shirt and jeans
  • Incident 2 – Wearing a green shirt with a black hooded jacket, blue jeans and black boots

Female suspect:

  • Approximately 5"6
  • Slender build
  • Wearing a long brown winter coat, black pants and black and white converse shoes and a beige hijab.
