Six charged after cocaine, oxycodone seized in St. Catharines

In May of 2020 detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), 1 District (St.Catharines) Street Crime Unit, began an investigation into the sales of fentanyl and cocaine in the city of St. Catharines.

In the morning hours of July 28, 2020, detectives with the assistance of the NRPS Emergency Task Unit, Guns, Gangs and Grows Unit and the Hamilton Police Emergency Response Unit, executed simultaneous search warrants at three locations in the city of St. Catharines.

As a result, 71 grams of cocaine and 20 tablets of oxycodone were seized. These controlled substances carry an estimated street value of $10,800.

Detectives have also seized $13,370 in cash believed to be proceeds of crime.

Matthew Goodman (22 years) of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the following offences:
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 substance (cocaine) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 substance (oxycodone) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
    •    Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 contrary to section 355(b) CC
    •    Fail to comply with probation order contrary to section 733.1(1) CC

Quinton Thomas (26 years) of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the following offences:
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 substance (cocaine) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 substance (oxycodone) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
    •    Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 contrary to section 355(b) CC
    •    Fail to comply with release order 145(5)(a) CC

Kordell Goodman (20 years) of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the following offences:
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 substance (cocaine) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 substance (oxycodone) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
    •    Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 contrary to section 355(b) CC

Darren Goodman (46 years) of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the following offences:
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 substance (cocaine) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 substance (oxycodone) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
    •    Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 contrary to section 355(b) CC

Angela Goodman (44 years) of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the following offences:
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 substance (cocaine) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 substance (oxycodone) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
    •    Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 contrary to section 355(b) CC

Mickayla Ley (21 years) of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the following offences:
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 substance (cocaine) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 substance (oxycodone) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
    •    Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 contrary to section 355(b) CC

Kordell Goodman, Angela Goodman and Mickayla Ley were released on a Form 10 - Undertaking and are expected to appear at court on Oct. 8, 2020, located at 59 Church St. in the city of St. Catharines.

Matthew Goodman, Quinton Thomas, Darren Goodman were held for a bail hearing on July 29, 2020 at 59 Church St. in the city of St. Catharines.
