The Niagara Regional Police Service missing person investigation into the location of Maria Jagiello in Welland remains ongoing.
Our search efforts in the southwest area of Welland are continuing today. We anticipate officers will be in the area conducting ground searches trying to locate Jagiello.
We are continuing to appeal to residents in the area who own security cameras to review footage from February 28, 2021, between 6:50pm and 8:00pm. Any sightings of Jagiello should reported to our 3 District – Welland detectives at 905-688-4111, extension 1009077.
Update 1 – March 1, 2021
The Niagara Regional Police continue to search for missing person, 65-year-old Maria Jagiello of Welland.
The search area is being concentrated in the southwest corner of the city, in the neighbourhoods near Webber Road and Clare Avenue. There is an increased police presence in the area, including officers on foot.
Members of the public who reside in the area of Silver Wood Avenue Street and Roselawn Crescent in Welland are being asked to check their properties and any out buildings such as garages and/or sheds for Jagiello.
Jagiello is not overly familiar with Welland and when she goes for walks does not go far from her home.
Members of the public, businesses or dash-cam owners in the area of Jagiello’s residence are being asked to review camera footage for any sightings of Jagiello on Feb. 28, 2021, between 6:50 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The Niagara Regional Police Service is currently searching for missing 65-year-old female, Maria Jagiello.
On Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, at approximately 7 p.m. Jagiello left her home on foot in the area of Silver Wood Avenue Street and Roselawn Crescent in Welland. Jagiello often goes for 15-20 minute walks near her home. This area is near Webber Road and Clare Avenue.
Jagiello did not return home. Her current location is unknown.
Jagiello is described as:
- White female
- 5’10ft. tall
- Medium build
- Blonde shoulder length hair.
Possibly wearing a hat with fur trim or flaps, beige winter coat and black pants.
Police and her family are concerned for Jagiello's welfare and are requesting the public's help in locating her.
