Police investigating stabbing in St. Catharines

The victim was taken to hospital before being taken by air ambulance to an out-of-region hospital in serious condition

On Saturday June 13, 2020, at approximately 3:00pm 1 District St. Catharines uniform officers responded to the area of the St. Catharines Library near Church Street and Carlisle Street. Officers and Niagara EMS paramedics responded for a report of a stabbing.

Officers arrived on scene and found a male victim in his 20s suffering from injuries from being stabbed. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital for further care. The victim was subsequently transported by Ornge air ambulance to an out-of-region hospital in serious condition.

The two suspects ran from the scene prior to the arrival of the police. Detectives believe that this was not a random incident.
