Phone repairman accused of sexual assault during service call

Police say service technician working at the home of a Niagara Falls woman 'touched the 62-year-old female victim inappropriately for a sexual purpose without her consent'

Since early February 2022, detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service Sexual Assault Unit have been investigating a Niagara Falls incident.

The investigation has determined that on February 18, 2022, a phone/internet repair technician performed a scheduled service call at the victim’s residence in Niagara Falls. During the service call, the technician touched the 62-year-old female victim inappropriately for a sexual purpose without her consent.

On March 17, 2022, Mohit Kals (22 years old) of Stoney Creek was arrested and charged. He was charged with the criminal offence of:

  • Sexual Assault – Sec. 271 CC

Kals was held in custody and will attend a video bail hearing at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on March 17, 2022.
