Packages stolen from Niagara Falls home, arrest made

On Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020 at approximately 8:20 a.m., 2 District (Niagara Falls) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), attended the area of Dorchester Road and Dolphin Street, in the City of Niagara Falls, in regards to a theft.

Investigation revealed that a male suspect had just stolen packages delivered to a residence in that area.

As a result of the investigation, 2 District (Niagara Falls) uniform officers were able to locate the male suspect nearby.  The packages were given back to the rightful owner.

Shawn Harrington (34 years old), of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged with the following offences of:

  • Theft under
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of credit card within Canada

Harrington was held in custody pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on Dec. 17, 2020 at the Robert S.K Welch Courthouse, in the City of Niagara Falls.
