One charged in connection with string of break and enters in Thorold

Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) Street Crime Unit have been investigating a series of recent break and enters in Thorold.

On March 13, 2024, detectives were able to identify a suspect. Detectives observed the suspect attempt to commit another break and enter to a home in the area of Roehampton Avenue and Bunting Road in St. Catharines. Detectives moved in and arrested the suspect with out incident.

Kristopher Jon Hodgkins (45 yrs.) of no fixed address has been arrested and charged with the Criminal Code offences of:

  • Break Enter and Commit (7 Counts)
  • Break Enter and Attempt (3 Counts)
  • Theft Under $5000 (2 Counts)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

At the time of his arrest Hodgkins was wanted on an outstanding warrant for fail to comply with probation (5 Counts) and fail to appear (2 Counts).

Hodgkins was held in custody for a video bail hearing to the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on March 14, 2024.
