Niagara Falls man faces human trafficking, sex assault charges in Parry Sound

PARRY SOUND - On March 19, 2022 Crime Unit members of the West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a complaint of sexual assault in the Town of Parry Sound.

As a result of the investigation and with the assistance of the OPP Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Karl Walker, 55 years of age of Niagara Falls, Ont., was arrested and charged with:
    •    Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age, contrary to Section 271 of the Criminal Code (CC)
    •    Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age, contrary to Section 152 CC
    •    Sexual interference, contrary to Section 151 CC
    •    Traffic in person under 18 years of age, contrary to Section 279.011 CC
    •    Administer noxious thing - methamphetamine, contrary to Section 245 CC
    •    Administer noxious thing - crack cocaine, contrary to Section 245 CC
    •    Indecent exposure to a person under 16 years of age, contrary to Section 173(2) CC
    •    Failure to comply with release order, contrary to Section 145(5)(a) CC (two counts)
    •    Traffic in schedule I substance - cocaine, contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA)
    •    Traffic in schedule I substance - methamphetamine (crystal meth), contrary to Section 5(1) CDSA
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine, contrary to Section 4(1) CDSA
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance - opioid (other than heroin), contrary to Section 4(1) CDSA

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 6, 2022 in Parry Sound.
