Missing St. Catharines man found dead

Police say that foul play is not suspected and no further details will be released

Update - Dec. 3, 2020

The missing person investigation into the location of Eric Wedderspoon has been ongoing. On Dec. 3, 2020, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Emergency Task Unit were conducting a ground search for Eric in the Old Glenridge area of St. Catharines. In doing so, officers discovered Eric Wedderspoon deceased. 

Detectives from the 1 District St. Catharines office of the NRPS and the Coroner attended the scene. Foul play is not suspected. 

Out of respect for the next of kin no further details are being released.

The Niagara Regional Police Service is currently searching for a missing 29-year-old man from the city of St. Catharines.

Eric Wedderspoon last spoke with his family at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, just prior to going to bed. It is believed that at approximately 3 a.m. on Nov. 29, 2020, Eric got up and left the family home. The  home is in the area of South Drive and Willowdale Avenue in the Old Glenridge area of St. Catharines.

His current location is unknown.  

Wedderspoon is described as:

  • White male
  • Approximately 5'9 and 165lbs.
  • Blue eyes and blonde hair.

He was last seen wearing olive khaki pants, a black windbreaker, a hat and black boots. He likely has some kind of a backpack with him.

The police and his family are concerned for Eric's welfare and are requesting the public's help in locating him.
