On Wednesday Sept. 2, 2020 at approximately 6:40 p.m., 3 District (Welland) uniform officers were called to the area of Southworth St and Victory Ave in the City of Welland following the report of an assault.
When officers arrived they discovered two male victims who had been allegedly assaulted while riding their bikes by two other males.
A 31-year-old male was airlifted to an out-of-town hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries while another 31-year-old man was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
Detectives believe this was a targeted incident.
Detectives are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or who may have surveillance or dash cam footage to contact police at (905) 688-4111, dial option 3, Badge #9221.
