Man charged with attempted murder after woman stabbed

A 32-year-old man who allegedly stabbed a woman in Niagara Falls has been charged with attempted murder.

Edward James Kasper was arrested yesterday and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing today.

Police previously disclosed that the victim met her attacker just 20 minutes before the stabbing, in the area of Falls Avenue and Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls.

Now out of hospital, the victim "continues to recover," police say.

As a result of the investigation, a suspect was identified.  On Sept. 13, 2022, detectives arrested the suspect.

Edward James Kasper (32 years) of Niagara Falls has been arrested and charged with the criminal offence:

  • Attempted Murder

Kasper is being held in custody for a video bail hearing to the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on Sept. 14, 2022.

The victim in this matter has been released from hospital and continues to recover from her injuries.
