Niagara Falls stabbing victim in stable condition, police seek suspect

The victim was taken to an out-of-town trauma centre for treatment

On Sept. 3, 2022, at 4:25 a.m. Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 2 District (Niagara Falls / Niagara-on-the-Lake) responded to the area of Eastwood Crescent and Ontario Avenue, in the City of Niagara Falls regarding a stabbing that just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult female, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Niagara Emergency Medical Service (NEMS) paramedics attended the scene and ultimately transported the victim to an out-of-town trauma centre for advanced medical care. The victim remains in hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.

Detectives assigned to the 2 District Criminal Investigative Branch, who have assumed carriage of the investigation, have learned the victim met the male suspect in the area of Falls Avenue and Clifton Hill, in the City of Niagara Falls approximately 20 minutes prior to the assault. The victim and the suspect left the area in the suspect’s vehicle, a maroon / burgundy pickup truck. The victim was stabbed shortly thereafter in the area of Eastwood Crescent and Ontario Avenue.  The victim and the suspect are not known to one and other.

The suspect is described as follows:

  • Male
  • White
  • 40 years of age
  • Brown hair and brown facial hair
  • Medium build

The suspect is believed to be operating a maroon/burgundy pickup truck.

Businesses with CCTV footage that captures Falls Avenue near Clifton Hill and residents with CCTV footage that captures the area of Eastwood Crescent and Ontario Avenue, and/or motorists who may have been in either area with an operational dash-camera are encouraged to review their footage.
