Employee assaulted during St. Catharines robbery: Police

On Monday, Nov. 9 2020, at approximately 7:55 p.m., 1 District (St. Catharines) Uniform Officers, attended Avondale, in the area of Glenridge Avenue and Glen Morris Drive, in the city of St Catharines, in regards to a robbery. 

Investigation revealed that an employee was near the entrance of the store, when an unknown male walked into the store, assaulted the employee, then proceeded to grab the cash register and leave the store. No weapons were used in the assault. 

The victim suffered minor physical injuries.

Detectives with 1 District (St. Catharines) are requesting the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

The suspect is described as being:  

  • White  
  • Male  
  • Short dark hair 

Clothing description:  

  • Bright blue hat  
  • Navy blue bandana covering his face 
  • Black sweater  
  • Dark Pants  
  • Black Shoes
