Driver dead after single-vehicle crash in Niagara-on-the-Lake

Police say the 42-year-old drove into a ditch and struck a concrete culvert

On April 14, 2022, at 9:55 p.m. Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) responded alongside Niagara Emergency Medical Service (NEMS) paramedics for reports of a single vehicle collision on Queenston Road between Concession Road 5 and Concession Road 6, in the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Upon arrival, officers located a black Ford F-150 pickup truck in the ditch. Investigation has revealed the vehicle was travelling West on Queenston Road before entering the ditch and striking a concrete culvert. The driver, a 42-year-old male from the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, who was the lone vehicle occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The identity of the driver is not being released.

Detectives assigned to the Collision Reconstruction Unit are appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area at the time of the collision.  Residents with CCTV footage that captures Queenston Road and motorists who were in the area with an operational dash-camera are encouraged to review their footage and contact the lead detective at 905-688-4111, option 4, badge #9206 with any relevant information.
