Barn fire in Fort Erie deemed suspicious: police

On June 15, 2022, at approximately 7 a.m., 5 District uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of a barn on fire in Fort Erie.

Officers arrived on scene in the area of Bertie Street and Ridgemount Road to a barn fully engulfed by fire. Fort Erie Fire Services extinguished the fire. The barn had been un-used for several years and was in a poor condition. With no utilities (gas / electrical) being active at the barn the fire is being considered suspicious in nature. 

Estimated damage value has not yet been determined.

5 District detectives have been assigned to the investigation. Anyone with information is being asked to contact detectives by calling 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009369.

Anyone (residents or businesses or motorists) in the area with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for suspicious activity for the period between 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on June 15, 2022.
