Two Niagara residents die after testing positive for COVID-19 this week

Two Niagara patients died this week after testing positive for COVID-19, Niagara Health said. The death toll, now at 525, increased after the patients passed away on March 22.

The deaths comes as Public Health reported 72 new cases of the virus in the region on Thursday. There are now 1,074 known active cases in the region. Numbers remain unreliable due to constraints on testing, the health system said.

There are 8 ongoing healthcare outbreaks after last week saw a completely blank page. The latest healthcare outbreak to be noted occurred on March 20, at Niagara Falls hospital unit C.
