Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Niagara Falls - Welland - Southern Niagara Region
  • St. Catharines - Grimsby - Northern Niagara Region

Rainfall amounts of 25 to 35 mm expected tonight, Friday and Friday night.

Rain at times heavy will start this evening. Rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm are expected tonight with an additional 5 mm Friday and 5 mm Friday night.

This precipitation is associated with a major low pressure from the Gulf of Mexico that is tracking northward and will affect the Golden Horseshoe tonight and Friday.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
