The April 24 updates provided by the province's public health agency and the ministry of health also reported the following data:

  • 3,192 recoveries and 4,098 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, though that count includes a catch-up with numbers previously unreported due to a service issue.
  • Of the new cases reported today, 496 were not fully vaccinated, 815 were fully vaccinated, 2,612 had received a booster and 175 are listed as vaccination status unknown.
  • 212 patients are in ICU with COVID-19 related illness.
  • 92 patients in ICU with COVID-19 are on ventilators (15 of those patients no longer test positive for COVID-19).
  • The province reported 16,139 tests were processed yesterday.
  • Another 5,504 tests are still under investigation and/or being processed. To date, nearly 24 million tests have been completed.

Vaccines

  • There were 20,928 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 administered yesterday.
  • 32,593,138 doses of vaccine have been administered.
  • In total, 12,158,421 people have been fully vaccinated.

Public Health Ontario has confirmed 1,242,158 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 1,194,904 recoveries and 12,734 deaths, 4,454 of those in long-term care homes
