Public Health Ontario reported 807 new COVID cases today for Sept. 2.
The latest update noted 738 recoveries and six deaths, but two of the deaths occurred more than two months ago and were not previously reported.
The Sept. 3 update provided by the province's public health agency also reported the following data:
- Of the new cases reported today, 499 were unvaccinated people, 68 were partially vaccinated, 179 were fully vaccinated, and 60 are listed as vaccination status unknown (missing health card information).
- 6,094 active, lab-confirmed cases, up from 6,031 yesterday.
- 326 COVID-positive people are currently hospitalized in Ontario.
- Of the COVID patients hospitalized and not in the ICU, 142 are unvaccinated, 17 are partially vaccinated, and 34 are fully vaccinated.
- There are 144 COVID-positive patients in intensive care, plus another 25 patients who no longer test positive for COVID-19.
- 88 COVID patients are on ventilators and another 17 patients on ventilators no longer test positive for COVID-19.
- Of the COVID patients in the ICU, 103 are unvaccinated, eight are partially vaccinated, and 12 are fully vaccinated.
- 10,006,367 Ontarians (about 67 per cent of the total population) have been fully vaccinated and another 858,930 (six per cent of Ontario population) have a single dose of COVID vaccine. Approximately 27 per cent of the population is unvaccinated.
- The province reported 28,786 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 3.2 per cent positivity rate. Provincial labs have processed 17.3 million tests to date.
- Of the new cases reported today 175 are from Toronto, 136 are from Peel, 23 are from Simcoe-Muskoka, and 85 are from York Region.
- Today's cases include 124 individuals under 12 years old, 84 youth between 12 and 19 years old, 321 people between 20 and 39 years old, 194 people between 40 and 59 years old, 68 people between 60 and 79 years old, and 14 people over 79 years old.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 567,878 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 552,248 recoveries and 9,536 deaths.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 3,854.2 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average weekly incidence rate last week was 33.7 cases per 100,000 people, which is up by 13.4 per cent from the week beginning Aug. 18.
