NRPH confirms 32 new cases in Niagara on Monday in largest increase since early June

Niagara Region Public Health confirmed 32 new cases of COVID-19 in the highest daily increase of local cases since June 5.

Following increases this weekend with close to 50 cases, the number of known active infections in the region hit 190 on Monday morning.

Increases have been noted in St Catharines, with 70 of those cases, and 41 in Niagara Falls.

Thorold has 13 active cases, according to Public Health.

Ages 20-39 now account for most cases.

NRPH is also tracking four active outbreaks, however none are located in health-care facilities.

65.6 percent of Niagara residents are now fully vaccinated.
