NRPH confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, following Monday's zero cases.

That leaves Niagara with 36 active cases of the infection confirmed by health authorities.

The active cases are primarily found in Lincoln.

Three out of four outbreaks currently ongoing are classed as 'community outbreaks', and the ongoing Garden City Manor outbreak continues.

919 Niagara residents have now been confirmed to have contracted COVID-19 since the region's first case on March 13.

At least 64 residents have died after testing positive for the virus.

Earlier this month, one-third of all cases had no known exposure.

Acting medical officer of health, Dr. Mustafa Hirji told Thorold News on Monday that the province's labs have been managing up to 40,000 tests simultaneously at times due to the province's liberal testing policy.
