This Thursday night, regional councillors will vote on if the region should pass a Niagara-wide bylaw requiring masks at indoor establishments.
Several southern Ontario municipalities and health units have already made the decision, but at a special council meeting two weeks ago, a tie-breaker vote by regional chair Jim Bradley decided to sit on the issue until tonight.
Some councilors think mandatory masks are not the way to go, while other, like St Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik have been pushing for masks to be required, and imposed bylaws in their own cities on masks.
