New COVID-19 case at area school – 14 new infections confirmed in Niagara on Monday

Outbreak list shortened significantly at several nursing homes as only two remain

NRPH reports 14 cases of COVID-19 on Monday.

There are now 270 confirmed active cases across the region, after 8 cases were listed as resolved.

Public Health also reports a significantly shortened list of active health-care outbreaks.

Only two nursing homes, Tufford Manor and Garden City Manor, both in St Catharines remain on the list.

There are 12 other active community outbreaks.

DSBN reported one positive case of COVID-19 at Quaker Road Public School in Welland on Monday, and two 'unrelated' positive cases at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School in St Catharines the day prior.

The school is being deep cleaned and assessed by public health staff.

The individual is currently self-isolating, said a statement from DSBN.
