There is still time for Niagara charities to submit applications to CAA Niagara's Community Boost program, offering non-profits a chance for $10,000, as well as having the club decal two of its fleet vehicles with the charities branding.

The program will also offer the recipients marketing- and fundraising support.

The roadside assistance organization said preference will be given to charities dedicated to community safety, programming for seniors and children, social services and mental health.

Last year the club received more than 60 applications, ultimately awarding food4Kids Niagara and Foundation of Resources for Teent (FORT), the prize.

CAA said it is expecting a flood of applications this year due to the pandemic and the strain it has put on charitable organizations.

“We’ve been in contact with several local charities over the last 12 months and it’s truly eye-opening to see the impact the pandemic has had on our non-profits,” said Peter Van Hezewyk, President and CEO of CAA Niagara.

“We’re excited to welcome two new organizations into the Community Boost family, and to provide much-needed support during this challenging time.”
