Public Health has confirmed 5 new cases of COVID-19 in Niagara.
There are now 75 active cases in the region, mostly found in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Two health-care facility outbreaks have closed.
Tabor Manor and Linhaven Manor in St Catharines have both been taken off the list.
Ages 20-39 remain the biggest group in which cases are found.
The regional medical officer of health, Dr. Mustafa Hirji, expressed concerns earlier this week that complacency among young people could be a driver in the slowly increasing daily case count that, for much of June, was hovering around a couple of new cases every day.
While this week has seen fluctuations in the lower single-digits, a massive increase was seen after the weekend, where a single day came up with 21 new lab-confirmed cases of the infection.
Public Health said the new infections in that group were heavily centered around Niagara Falls.
Today, the region is beginning to enforce its mandatory face-covering bylaw in attempts to flatten the curve.
