37 new cases, one death and three new outbreaks at care homes reported in Niagara after the weekend

Since Saturday, Niagara Region Public Health has confirmed 37 new cases of COVID-19 and three new outbreaks in care homes.

The daily breakdown: 

Saturday: 10 cases

Sunday: 16 cases

Monday: 11 cases

One more death was reported on Monday, bringing the Niagara death toll to 65.

Three new care homes have been added to the list of ongoing outbreaks.

Lundy Manor in Niagara Falls, which experienced one of the longest outbreaks of COVID-19 and a large number of deaths earlier this spring, has been added to the list again after at least one case was confirmed at the home.

Shalom Gardens in Grimsby and The Meadows of Dorchester in Niagara Falls are also reporting cases.

There are active cases of the virus in all municipalities except Niagara-on-the-Lake. 

In the latest wave of new cases, one was found in Thorold, the regional statistics reveal.

In total, there are 125 active cases.
