NIAGARA REGIONAL POLICE SERVICE
*********************
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at about 10:52 p.m., officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service, Niagara EMS paramedics and the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake Fire Department responded to Concession 7 Road and Line 6 Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake, for the report of a person struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers located a 35-year-old female with critical injuries. The vehicle involved in the collision did not stop and was last seen south on Concession 7 Road. The female was transported to NHS-Niagara Falls by EMS and was later transferred to an out-of-region trauma centre.

It is believed the offending vehicle is a dark-coloured pick-up truck, possibly a Dodge Dakota, with a loud muffler and tinted windows. The truck is believed to have front-end damage and possibly missing a side mirror. Anyone with information is asked to call the Niagara Regional Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit at 905-688-4111, ext. 5600.
