Victim stabbed during face mask dispute in St. Catharines: Police

Suspect is at large and should be considered armed and dangerous, warn Niagara Police

On May 31, 2021 at 6:27 p.m., 1 District (St. Catharines) uniform officers, were dispatched to an assist ambulance call for service at Kentucky Fried Chicken located at 60 Hartzel Rd. in the City of St. Catharines in response to a stabbing.

Investigation revealed that two males were in the restaurant when they got into a verbal dispute over how one of the males was wearing his mask. As a result of the dispute, one male stabbed the other male.

The victim, a male in his 20s, was transported to an out of region hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The suspect has been identified as Nicholas Chambers of St. Catharines and is wanted for aggravated assault.

Nicholas Chambers (27 years old) is described as being:
    •    Black
    •    Male
    •    174 lbs
    •    5’6
    •    Medium build
    •    Short black hair

Detectives are making attempts to locate a photo of the suspect.

Nicholas Chambers is known to frequent the St. Catharines area and is considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach if observed and call 911.

This appears to be a targeted event.
