Two face drug charges following investigation

An investigation that began in February led the the subsequent arrest of two people on Thursday

Since February 2019, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit, The Guns, Gangs and Grows Unit, and the Morality Unit conducted a joint investigation into the sale of crystal methamphetamine within the Region of Niagara.

As a result of the investigation, several suspected drug deals were observed by police being conducted by a male and female, who were the targets of this investigation.

On Thursday, March 14, 2019 police were granted judicial authorization to enter and search a residence on Waters Avenue, Niagara Falls. At approximately 5:45 p.m. police followed the same female to Beamsville where she was observed conducting a suspected drug transaction. Police subsequently conducted a traffic stop on the QEW Niagara Falls-bound near Glendale Avenue, where she was arrested. A police search located 265 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 16 grams of cocaine and eight grams of fentanyl. The estimated street value of the drugs were approximately $30,000.00. At approximately 6:30 p.m. the search warrant was executed where the male was arrested.

Charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking was 35-year-old Krisa Graham and 50-year-old John Carriero. Carriero was also charged with three counts of breaching a release order. Both Graham and Carriero will be attending a bail hearing on March 15, 2019 at the St. Catharines courthouse.
