Three charged after police seize fentanyl, crystal meth, cocaine in Thorold

Two from Thorold, one from Etobicoke face trafficking charges

Since May of 2020, detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), 1 District (St. Catharines) Street Crime Unit, have been conducting an investigation into the sales of fentanyl from a residence in the area of Parkdale Drive and St. David’s Road in the City of Thorold.

As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify three male suspects.

On Dec. 10, 2020, the suspects were arrested.

Subsequently, detectives executed a search warrant and seized 3.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 3.0 grams of cocaine, 38.6 grams of fentanyl, and $2,640 in Canadian currency.

Michael Fagu (23 years old) of Etobicoke, was arrested and charged with the following offences of:
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking to wit: fentanyl
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking to wit: cocaine
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking to wit: crystal methamphetamine
    •    Possession of proceeds or property obtained by crime under $5,000
    •    Fail to comply with undertaking

Fagu was held in custody, pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on Dec. 11, 2020 at the Robert S.K Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church St. in the City of St. Catharines.

Brandon Abrams (33 years old) of Thorold, was arrested and charged with the following offences of:
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking to wit: fentanyl
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking to wit: cocaine
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking to wit: crystal methamphetamine
    •    Possession of Proceeds or property obtained by crime under $5,000

Abrams was held in custody, pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on Dec. 11, 2020 at the Robert S.K Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church St. in the City of St. Catharines.

Jeffrey Thompson (38 years old) of Thorold, was arrested and charged with the following offences of:
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking to wit: fentanyl
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking to wit: cocaine
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking to wit: crystal methamphetamine
    •    Possession of proceeds or property obtained by crime under $5,000
    •    Possession of firearm, weapon or ammunition

Thompson was held in custody, pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on Dec. 11, 2020 at the Robert S.K Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines.
