Three arrested in Fort Erie drug bust

Police seize an estimated $3,000 worth of drugs including crystal meth, oxycodone, and psilocybin

In January of 2020, 5 District (Fort Erie) detectives commenced an investigation into the trafficking of illicit drugs in the Town of Fort Erie. 

On March 6, 2020, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Forsythe St and Waterloo St.

Two males and a female were arrested in the residence and the search resulted in the seizure of approximately $3000 worth of drugs including crystal meth, oxycodone, and psilocybin.

Police also seized over $200 in Canadian currency, a prohibited knife and various suspected stolen property that remains under investigation.

40-year-old Sherry Frayne of Fort Erie is facing the following alleged charges:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a Schedule I substance (Crystal Meth), Section 5(2) CDSA.
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a Schedule I substance (Oxycodone), Section 5(2) CDSA.
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a Schedule III substance (psilocybin), Section 5(2) CDSA.
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Section 355(a) CC.
  • Possession of proceeds of crime under $5000, Section 355(b) CC. 

39-year-old Nicholas Auclair of Fort Erie is facing the following alleged charges:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a Schedule I substance (Crystal Meth), Section 5(2) CDSA.
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a Schedule I substance (Oxycodone), Section 5(2) CDSA.
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a Schedule III substance (psilocybin), Section 5(2) CDSA.
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Section 355(a) CC.
  • Possession of proceeds of crime under $5000, Section 355(b) CC.

40-year-old Brian Williams of Fort Erie is facing the following alleged charges:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a Schedule I substance (Crystal Meth), Section 5(2) CDSA.
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a Schedule I substance (Oxycodone), Section 5(2) CDSA.
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a Schedule III substance (psilocybin), Section 5(2) CDSA.
  • Fail to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1) CC.

Frayne, Auclair and Williams are all currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Monday, March 9, 2020, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.
