Thorold man wanted on fraud charges arrested

Update - June 4th, 2020

In June of 2019, the Niagara Regional Police Service, Central Fraud Unit, commenced an investigation involving several frauds, taking place in the Niagara Region.

On Thursday, June 4, 2020, detectives received information, that Brody Racine, was inside a house in the area of Forster Ave. and McDonagh Cres., in the City of Thorold.

1 District (St. Catharines) uniform patrol attended the address and located Racine.

Subsequently, Racine was arrested on the strength of a warrant.

Brody Racine, 39 years of age, of Thorold, was charged with the alleged offences of:  

  • Fraud Over $5,000 (7 Counts) 
  • Fraud Under $5,000 (3 Counts)  
  • Theft Under $5,000 (5 Counts) 
  • Possession of stolen property Over $5,000 (5 Counts)  
  • Breach of Conditional Sentence Order · Fail to attend court  
  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000  
  • Theft Over $5000 (6 Counts)

Racine attended bail on today’s date and was held in custody.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives from the Central Fraud Unit have reason to believe there are more victims. Anyone with information can contact detectives by email at [email protected].
