Suspect in October armed robbery accused of stealing and crashing a vehicle: Police

Niagara Regional Police say the suspect struck an unmarked police cruiser, collided with another vehice, and abandoned the area on foot before being arrested

On Oct. 14, 2020, at approximately 4:47 p.m., 1 District (St. Catharines) Uniform Officers attended the area of Water Street and Welland Avenue, in the City of St. Catharines, in relation to a robbery.

On Nov. 11, 2020,  detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District (Niagara Falls) Street Crime Unit, were in the area of Culp Street and Orchard Avenue, in the City of Niagara Falls and observed a wanted male operating a stolen grey Nissan. 

The stolen vehicle suddenly fled, striking an unmarked police cruiser. The Nissan then left the scene resulting in it colliding with a Silver Kio Rio. As a result, the suspect driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the area by foot. The suspect was arrested a short distance away.

Moises R. Medeiros (25 years old) of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with the following offences of:

Nov. 11, 2020:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Operation while prohibited 
  • Dangerous operation 
  • Fail to stop at the scene of an accident 
  • Fail to comply with release order

Oct. 14, 2020:

  • Break and enter - commit robbery
  • Use of firearm during commission of offence
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Fail to comply with release order (2 counts)
  • Fail to comply with probation order (2 counts)

Medeiros was held in custody pending a bail hearing that was expected to take place on Nov. 12, 2020, at the Robert S.K Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Juston E. Price (35 years old) of St. Catharines, for the criminal offences of:

  • Break and enter - commit robbery
  • Use of firearm During commission of offence
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Fail to comply with probation order (two counts)

Price is described as being:

  • 6’0
  • 172lbs
  • Medium build
  • Brown eyes   

Price’s location is unknown; however he does have ties to St. Catharines.

The male is considered armed and dangerous, he should not be approached if seen. Please call 911 immediately.
