Police track down 14-year-old accused of store robbery

Teenager was arrested Tuesday; police still searching for second suspect

Police are seeking these suspects following a robbery in St. Catherines on June 16, 2022.

A 14-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with a June 16 robbery at a St. Catharines convenience store.

Niagara Regional Police are still trying to identify a second suspect.

Detectives from the 1 District – St. Catharines / Thorold office of the Niagara Regional Police Service have been investigating this robbery. 

As a result of that ongoing investigation one of the suspects has been identified as a 14-year-old male from Welland.  On Aug. 9, 2022 he was arrested and charged with the offences of:

  • Robbery
  • Disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence 

He was released from custody on a Form 10 Undertaking with a future court date.  As a result of determining the identity of suspect 1 and that he is a youth, his photo has been removed from the original media release.   The Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada Prohibits the NRPS from identifying persons under 18 years of age.

The identity of suspect 2 remains unknown and under investigation.
