Police searching for Niagara Falls man wanted for robbery

Murray Nimmo, 33, is wanted on charges of robbery and failure to comply.

Police are on the hunt for a 33-year-old Niagara Falls man who was allegedly involved in a violent variety store robbery in Niagara Falls that sent a female employee to hospital.

Murray Nimmo is wanted on charges of robbery and failure to comply with probation. A co-accused, 26-year-old Shawn Butler, was arrested shortly after the incident and remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

On Tuesday, March 8th, 2022 at 3:31 p.m., 2 District (Niagara Falls) uniform officers attended Victoria & Maple Variety Store located at 4623 Victoria Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls in response to a robbery call for service.

Investigation revealed that two males entered the store and were attempting to steal various items. A female employee confronted them which resulted in the males becoming aggressive and assaulting her.

The males left the store prior to police arrival and were last seen walking southbound on Victoria Avenue.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify the two males.

Shawn Butler (26 years old) of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with the following offences of:

  • Robbery
  • Fail to comply with probation

Butler was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Murray Nimmo (33 years old) of Niagara Fall is still outstanding and wanted for the following charges of:

  • Robbery
  • Fail to comply with probation

He is described as:

  • White male
  • 6’
  • 190lbs
  • Medium build
  • Brown hair
  • Hazel eyes
