Suspect sought after sexual assault in Niagara Falls

On March 31, 2024 at 4:02am, 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) responded to the area of Queen Street and Erie Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls in regard to a sexual assault that had occurred around 3:00am.

Investigation revealed a female was outside her apartment at approximately 3:00am, in this area when she was approached by an unknown male from behind and was assaulted, accosted and the male made attempts to sexually assault the victim.  The female was able to fight her way out of the situation and regain safety in her apartment.  

The K9 unit with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended however had negative results as there was a time delay from when the incident occurred.

The victim sustained minor physical injuries.

The suspect remains unidentified. 

He is described as a male, light to medium skin, 5’5”-5’6” in height, wearing brown cable knit zip-up sweater, black slushpants and a brown baseball cap.  He was last seen on foot. 

The Sexual Assault Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.
