Police looking for suspect in connection with armed robbery in Grimsby

Sean Nicholas of Hamilton is wanted for multiple weapons charges

On Aug. 25, 2021, 8 District Grimsby uniform officers began an investigation involving a robbery with a firearm. The robbery occurred at approximately 6:15 a.m. in the area of the North Service Road and Olive Street, in the Town of Grimsby. The incident involved one victim who had been in a car with the suspect at the time of the offence. The victim was not injured.

As a result of the investigation detectives are seeking an arrest warrant for Hamilton resident Sean Nicholas (25 years old), who is currently of no fixed address. Nicholas is wanted for the criminal offences of:

  • Robbery with a firearm 344(1)(a) CC
  • Point firearm 87(1) CC
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle 94(1) CC
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order 117.01(1) CC

Nicholas’ currently location is unknown. Police are asking assistance from members of the public in locating Sean Nicholas and his vehicle, a silver 2007, two-door Honda CIVIC, Ontario licence plate CSSM464.

Nicholas is described as:

  • Male Black
  • 5’9, approximately 250 pounds
  • Brown eyes
  • Black hair

This is believed to be a targeted incident. At this time Sean Nicholas should be considered armed and dangerous. For their safety, members of the public are requested not to approach Nicholas, but rather call the police.
