Police investigating suspicious person call in St. Catharines

Police are investigating an interaction between a 13-year-old girl and an adult male that happened between 5:30 and 6 p.m. on Tuesday

The Niagara Regional Police are currently investigating an incident that occurred in the area of Rockwood Avenue and Woodrow Street, in the City of St. Catharines.

On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at approximately 7:11 p.m., 1 District (St. Catharines) Uniform Officers, were dispatched to the area of Valour Way and Rockwood Avenue, in the City of St. Catharines, in response to a suspicious person.

Investigation revealed an interaction occurred between a 13-year-old girl and an adult male between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., in front of the Avondale, the nature of which is under investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing with detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service.

The male was driving a dark pickup truck that was parked in front of the same plaza. 

The suspect is described as being:

  • Male
  • White
  • Mustache

Clothing Description:

  • Dark sunglasses
  • Black shell jacket
  • Black jeans

Detectives would like to identify this male.

Anyone who resides, or operates a business in the area with video surveillance or anyone who was in the area with dashcams, is asked to review their video footage and contact the Niagara Regional Police Service if they observe anything suspicious.
