On July 23, 2022, at 12:45 p.m., 2 District Niagara Falls uniform officers responded to a house in Niagara Falls regarding a weapons call.
Officers arrived on the scene at home on Green Boughs Road near Olden Avenue. The initial investigation determined there was a person in the house armed with a firearm. The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Emergency Task Unit and Crisis Negotiators were called to the scene. The person refused to exit the home.
Officers contained the residence and closed roads in the area.
- Olden Avenue at Woodgate Street
- Green Bough Road at Kennedy Court
- Olden Avenue at Willow Crescent
Members of the public are asked to stay out of the area. Homes in the immediate proximity of the house have been contacted by officers and asked to stay inside and shelter in place.
Negotiations are ongoing as of the time of this release.
