Police determine no conflict of interest in 2016 hiring of new CAO for NRPS

On De. 6, 2019 the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) received a complaint regarding activities related to the 2016 hiring process of a new Chief Administrative Officer for Niagara Region.

On De. 10, 2019, the Niagara Regional Police Service, in order to ensure there was no perception of conflict of interest, requested assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). 

Officers with the OPP Anti-Rackets Branch conducted an investigation and have concluded there is no evidence to warrant laying of criminal charges.  

The OPP has delivered its final report to the NRPS.
