One dies in multi-vehicle collision in Jordan

80-year-old driver also ejected from their vehicle and sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries; the investigation is ongoing

On Sept. 3, 2021, at approximately 4 p.m., 8 District (Grimsby) uniform officers, the Lincoln Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services attended the area of Victoria Avenue and Spring Creek Road, in the Town of Jordan, in regards to a motor vehicle collision.

Investigation revealed an 80-year-old female was travelling westbound on Spring Creek Road when she continued into the intersection and was struck by a pickup truck being operated by a 50-year-old male, southbound on Victoria Avenue. As a result of the initial collision the pickup truck collided with a fully laden tractor trailer that was travelling northbound on Victoria Avenue, operated by a 22-year-old male.

The 80-year-old female was ejected from the vehicle and transported to an out of region hospital with life threatening injuries.

The 50-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 22-year-old sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing by detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit.
