Niagara Falls man charged in connection to vehicle theft in Welland

Police say the 30-year-old was trying to sell the vehicle when it was located

Since early November 2021, detectives with the Welland Detective Office have been actively investigating the theft of a motor vehicle in the City of Welland.

On Nov. 28, 2021 the investigation identified that the stolen motor vehicle was located in the City of Niagara Falls and was actively being sold.  Detectives from both the Welland and Niagara Falls Detective Offices located the motor vehicle and identified the individual attempting to sell it. 

Gerry Pellizzari (30 years) of the City of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged with the following offences of:

  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Possession of stolen property under $5000

In addition, Gerry Pellizzari, was also arrested on the strength of a bench warrant for unrelated criminal charges.

Pellizzari has been held for a bail hearing that is expected to take place on Nov. 29, 2021.
