Multiple restaurants broken into, cash registers stolen in Niagara Falls: police

In June 2021, members of the 2 District Street Crime Unit began an investigation into a series of break and enters into restaurants in the City of Niagara Falls.

Investigation revealed that multiple restaurants in the City of Niagara Falls were broken into and the cash registers were stolen from the restaurants.

As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify two suspects.

On June 24, 2021 the suspects were arrested in the area of Ailanthius Avenue and Dunn Street, in the City of Niagara Falls.

Michael Cosby (37 years old), of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged with the following offences of: 

  • Break enter with commit place other than dwelling (5 Counts) 
  • Break enter and commit theft to dwelling 
  • Public mischief

Cosby was held in custody pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on June 25, 2021.

Donald Kane (43 years old) of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged with the following offence of: 

  • Break and enter commit theft

Kane was released on a Form 10-Undertaking with a future court date.
