Four arrested in stabbing investigation in St. Catharines

The victim in the incident was taken to hospital with what police believe are non-life threatening injuries after suffering multiple stab wounds

On March 27, 2021, at approximately 5:23 a.m. 1 District – St. Catharines uniform officers were called to a convenience store in the area of Welland Avenue and Geneva Street in St. Catharines for a report of a stabbing.

Officers arrived on scene with paramedics from Niagara Emergency Medical Services. A male in his 20s was located suffering from multiple stab wounds. The male victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and transported to a local hospital for care of what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The initial investigation determined that the stabbing occurred five to 10 minutes beforehand and the main scene was at residence on North Street near Niagara Street. Officers attended the North Street location and secured the scene. 

Four people found at the scene were arrested.

The investigation was assigned to detectives from the 1 District detective office. They are being assisted by detectives from the Forensic Services Unit. The scene is being held pending the execution of a search warrant.

Anyone (residents or businesses) in the area with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dashboard cameras are asked to review their footage for suspicious activity for the period between 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on March 27, 2021. 

The identity of those persons who were arrested is not being released at this time pending further investigation by detectives.
