Fire at auto parts store deemed not criminal: police

Police have cleared the scene, road closures reopened

On April 12, 2022, at approximately 3:23 p.m. uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to Beaverdams Road in the City of Thorold to assist with a large commercial fire.

The building at 1665 Beaverdams Road was fully engulfed. NRPS officers assisted with scene safety and road closures.

A shelter in place order was issued for the City of Thorold due to the large cloud of smoke.  That order was lifted at approximately 11 p.m.

The initial investigation has found no criminality.  

NRPS officers have cleared the scene and road closures in the area have been opened.

The Thorold Fire and Emergency Services is the lead agency.  Media inquiries should be directed to them.
